Part I: The Foundations

The two words everything else is built on. What regenerative actually means, and why resilience is an ecological idea before it is a personal one. Read these first. Every essay that follows leans on them.

The essays

No. 1
Regenerative vs Sustainable: Why the Difference Could Change Everything
Sustaining a degraded system changes nothing. Regeneration is the step past it.
No. 2
What Is Resilience? The Ecological Truth Behind the Most Misunderstood Word of Our Time
Not a motivational poster. A pattern living systems use to survive, and one we can build.

A question to sit with

Suppose someone asked you to sustain a house that was already falling down. You could patch the roof every winter and call it care. Or you could call it what it is: waiting.

Look at the systems you live inside. Your food, your work, your town, your own body.

Which of them are you only sustaining? And which one could you begin to heal?
